Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for a great 2013! I really enjoyed helping you celebrate your special times.

December was very busy with events, cookies and a couple of weddings thrown in! January is shaping up nicely. I am working on an epic birthday cake and cant wait to show it to you! I also am working with a web designer and will be unveiling a new website hopefully this month! I’ll keep you posted.

Here are a few pictures from this past month!

Peanut Butter & Jelly

I had a request from a customer for peanut butter and jelly cupcakes. I have seen these online a lot but had yet to try one. I whipped up a batch and they became her favorite! I think she dreams of them.

I made a basic vanilla cupcake, filled it with my homemade strawberry rhubarb jam, topped it with an amazing peanut butter frosting and another drizzle of the jam! Seriously, I am honestly not a huge frosting fan, weird, I know, butt this frosting I lick the bowl its so good!

Maple Bacon Cupcakes

For my husband’s birthday, he did not make a cake request. So I tried a new recipe out on him! In our family we say, “everything is better with bacon”. Amen???

So I searched around for a Maple Bacon Cupcakes recipe and came up with this one! My husband and I enjoyed it! We even took some to church to share!

Honey Lavender Cupcake

I’ve been wanting to try a cupcake with lavender for awhile and I found an amazing recipe! My friend let me have some edible lavender flowers and I went to town.

I started with a vanilla cupcake and frosted them with a honey mascarpone frosting. The frosting was to die for! Then I made a lavender brittle!

They turned out so pretty, very yummy and not too floral. I was afraid the lavender would be overpowering, but since it was only in the brittle and sprinkled on top, it was just right!
